Ship Facts: Celebrity Equinox Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Equinox Deck Plans
First time Celebrity

This was our first cruise on Celebrity having tried two of the other major competitiors and we were looking forward to judging the competition!Pick up at airport went well and embarkation at Barcelona was efficient.Loved the welcome drink which just set the tone of the holiday.

The ship itself was probably the best one we have been on, very modern, loved the sanctuary, which is the indoor kids free pool which was also noise free when you just needed a wee break from all the noise round the outdoor pools.

We were at the buffet enjoying lunch when the announcement was made that cabins were ready so that was good and our indoor cabin was spacious enough for me as I am a tad claustraphobic!

Loved all the modern fittings in the cabin and it was kept immaculate by the housekeeping staff. All staff were very helpful and we enjoyed chatting to them and finding out about their countries, they must get this every cruise but seemed happy to chat.

Food was excellent both in buffet and main dining room, never tried speciality dining do not see point when food is so good, one thing not to miss is the brunch usually on the last sea day it really was spectacular! For a choc a holic the two chocolate fountains and desserts hit all the right spots!I really feel the staff who showcased all this lovely food ice sculptures etc should have came out for a round of applause at the end as we wanted to thank them for all their hard work.

Ports were all very good especially enjoyed having the extra time in Venice overnight so no need to rush back to ship.

The only criticism we have would be the entertainment at night. Some acts were good but some were mediocre. Celebrity need to up their game, NCL have things like the Blue man group on their med ships which has a real wow factor but there was nothing that really blew us away. We did enjoy Southside, the group by the pool and in the sky lounge, they could play everything and were very entertaining. Agree with other reviewers who say glass blowing is good to see once but it is a bit of a gimmick and not that relevant to a cruise ship, perhaps money here could be spent on a big headline act. Overall we had a great cruise and would cruise celebrity again.
