From the oppressive decor ( more like a mausoleum than a fun ship ) to the absence of interaction with entertainment and other senior staff.
We also stayed on for the following cruise from Dover to Northern Europe and back to Dover.
Other than the cruise director was John and not Brent (yes, Brent was very poor in the role and obviously had issues with Calvyn, his assistant ), nothing was different on the 2nd cruise. No effort was made to change even the few movies that were shown on the first cruise, the menu was exactly the same and many of the trivia questions were repeated too.
The casino was very smokey and we had to avoid that entire floor mostly as the whole floor stank of smoke
We knew that we had not paid a lot for these cruises and so we were not expecting too much, so our expectations were largely met. We have never been on a cruise that was not enjoyable in most areas although some are much better than others (often relates to price)
Having said that, I doubt we would book another Carnival cruise
