We were not impressed by the Magic. When we arrived to our cabin, there was trash from the previous guests and one of the restrooms spelled of urine. When my husband told the steward his excuse was that they were in a hurry to get the rooms ready. The Lido deck waiters looked as though they did not want to be there. The dining room head waiter rushed us to order and was not very interested in us. The assistant waiters were very friendly when they were around. The would disappear for long periods of time. We had to wait a very long time to get our food. When tiger shrimp was on the menu, we were served small shrimp. Most nights we did not leave the dining room until after 10:00 pm and our dining time was at 8:15. I now understand why previous reviews stated obvious cutbacks. When it was show time in the dining room the maitre de called the waiters to entertain guests in the middle of the dining area. We were seated near the kitchen by the window so we could not see everything. We felt left out. Other complaints were that the Italian restaurant was open for free lunch and only word of mouth guest knew. It was not announced or mentioned in the Funtimes. I had been waiting for an announcement for the chocolate buffet. It was never announced. My daughter went to the rest room and happened to hear someone speak of it. If we did not hear from other guests we would be left. It's like they did not want everyone on the ship to enjoy everything that was offered and we all paid a lot of money for this cruise. Another thing we did not appreciate was my son along with all the other teens being told to leave Circle C early on the last night. They were supposed to have until midnight to hang out with friends on the last night, but he said a rude female staff member by the name of Gail told them they had to leave at 11.That was not fair. The nightly shows were not that good. We only went to two.

Sorry that it sounds like we had a miserable cruise, but I have never experienced any of these things on previous Carnival cruises. The excursions were wonderful. The water park on the ship was great. Food on the Lido deck was great. We enjoyed watching a movie late nights on the big screen tv. We enjoyed the daily activities on board.sitting out on the top decks looking at the water was amazing.

I miss the Conquest which had better food and much, much better staff that went out of their way to accommodate guests.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View

Cabin 6N

We had the deluxe ocean view cabin. It was really nice having two restrooms since we had five family members. It would have been nice to have two toilets. Ample closet space. The overhead bunks were good. We were across from the crew work area which would be noisy at times. Overall good cabin for a family.
