6 of us left on this great cruise with ages ranging from 7 to 76 years old. All of us had a great time. This was the second Alaska cruise we have taken on the Wonder. The weather was much better then expected as we had dry days in each port. I have read several reviews on here that we're less than flattering and I just don't see why. We all loved every moment on the trip!
Smooth and easy. We checked in online and took an 11:30 boarding time. We arrived at the terminal at 11:00 hoping to maybe get on early but there were several people there already. We got boarding group #7 and we got on at about noon. We took that time to let the kids take a few pictures with Mickey and to get familiar with the "personal navigator". Once our group was called we were in the lobby in five minutes. They opened Beach blanket buffet right when we got on so we were one of the first families to get a table which made it very easy with all the carry on luggage. We got a table right on the railing and took in the atmosphere of "Canada day"!
There was a huge line in the terminal to register for the kids clubs so we went on board and registered after lunch. It took just a few minutes as we were the only family registering at the time. I recommend waiting til you are on board to register. Our kids loved the clubs and were constantly begging us to take them back. They also stayed open late and you got a text message on your wave phone when the clubs were nearing their closing times.
He three dining rooms were fun and the food was fantastic. We particularly liked "animator's palate" as the kids enjoyed watching the walls and pictures change colors.
We loved the shows. They had 4 broadway caliber shows on board and all were great with the exception of toy story witch, while well done, was just a bit boring. The variety acts were also very entertaining. Especially Magic Dave who was one of the funniest performers I have ever seen. We also enjoyed the game shows. My 10 year old got to play in one of them and had a blast.
The adult entertainment on Route 66 was also a ton of fun. They do several themed nights and some adult only shows and games that were a lot of fun. On the last night they do "if I were not upon the sea" which literally had us all rolling on the floor.
Debarkation was also smooth. After one last meal you just wait for your color luggage tag and you are out. No hassles at all.
I have absolutely nothing negative to say about our trip on the Wonder. Everything we experienced was terrific and every crew member made sure we had a first class experience. All of us can't wait for our next Disney cruise!
