We have sailed with Princess Cruises for several years and we are Elite status. This was our 17th cruise with them and may be our last. We booked our cruise at the last minute as we have done before but not in a million years would we have thought that there could be so many problems. We arrived to our cabin and it was not configured for us. Another person's name was on the door, the beds not configured as a queen as we requested. No elite amenities. The bathroom was dirty, the mirror was full of hand prints and the safe had old receipts in it. We had a TV that would not stay on the channel and a shower that wouldn't drain causing water to run over the top.
We had 4 minor children in the room next to us with no adult supervision. The parents were in another cabin in another area of the ship. The kids, jumped yelled, laughed, slammed the door, ran up and down the hall playing tag and banged on the walls, all hours of the night. Security was called several times but the noise resumed shortly after they left.
We wrote a letter to Princess Cruises Corporate explaining our concerns and how they need to look at their policy with children and the minimum age with no parents in the cabin.
I found out it was like writing a letter to the dead letter office. They replied that there was nothing they could do about it. If a parent signs up in room, they can't police who actually occupies the room. Don't waste your time writing a letter because of the attitude of customer relations is one of not caring!
I think Most of Princess ship are becoming dated. Be careful what you book, price may not be your best deal !
