The traffic to the Barcelona port was ridiculous on Embarkation day, as most of the travelers seemed to take a Taxi. Check-in and boarding went well anyway, our bags were taken in right away when we got to the port and check-in line progressed smoothly.
Our stateroom and the balcony were spacious, and the balcony was in a nice private spot. The room was pretty nice for two people. The sink was places opposite the toilet/shower, which was quite odd and inconvenient. Also the shower pressure was too low.
The day after embarkation was on sea so we spent some time on the balcony and walking around the ship. I was a bit worried about the complementary dining options beforehand but the Garden Cafe buffet was a pleasant surprise. There were a lot of options to choose from and some new options every time we visited. More
The offerings were a bit too much focused on red meat, usually there was only one fish option available.
From the other restaurants Shanghai stood up with great asian dishes. Lamb curry was good though I could've had a bit more spicy version.
The highlights of the cruise were definitely Barcelona and Marseilles. Both are beautiful, vibrant cities and we absolutely left wanting to come back again.
Internet connection was ridiculously expensive, and there wasn't a lot of information about the ports available, so planning the day trips was a bit tough. The excursions arranged by NCL were also overpriced.
Overall, it was a great first cruise for us. The cruise staff was very helpful and polite and we had a great weather on us for the whole trip. Less
