Ship Facts: Mariner of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Mariner of the Seas Deck Plans
Relaxing on the Seas

We had a fantastic Cruise on the Mariner of the Seas. Was it perfect? No. Throughout the 10 days we did not have one boring moment. We found plenty of ways to keep ourselves amused, be it just sitting in Promenade Coffee Shop, in one of the many Bars, on the pool deck or even in the Gym. Then there was all the eating places, we just loved Johnny Rockets and the staff there real go out of their way to entertain you; the Windjammer and the main Dining Room. We found all the food to be of a good quality and lots of variety especially in the Dining room.

The Ice Show was fantastic but all the other show were entertaining as well. We just loved Matt Yee the Chinese entertainer from Hawaii kept the late nights jumping.

Our Stateroom was great and we enjoyed having a balcony especially when were sailing into port. We arrived into Hong Kong to be greeted by a Band, Dragon and TV Cameras. We were the first ship to use the new Cruise Terminal. We received a model of the new terminal with our Ship berthed there. A nice little keepsake.

The staff in the Dining room were fantastic as was our Stateroom Attendant.

They were making changes to the ship during the voyage and these certainly had a negative impact on our experience. The $100 compensation was an insult.

The staff at the Service Desk were not up to the job and certainly could not manage the passengers' problems. In many ways this was a training voyage for the new Chinese Staff. The ship will be basically a floating Casino operating out of China for the next few months.

We should have been advised that you can be granted a Visa for Vietnam on arrival this would have saved us great deal of time and expense.

Our arrival in Shanghai was so smooth and the Chinese officials were great from our cabin to our car.- 45 minutes. Wow!!

Yes, there were a few problems but we had the best time on the cruise and are planning our next. Probably with Royal Caribbean.
