Thomson Dream Cruise Review by sea pup: Not a Dream

Not a Dream
Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean
No problems with embarkation and was shown to our cabin which was larger than expected and well decorated.
Bar staff were not good at all, having cruised 15 times on three different lines, Thomson, NCL and Royal Caribbean I have never before found such poor bar service. The bar staff were not interested, even though we sit at the bar itself rather than a table, once you had finished a drink they did not notice for a while and when they did they put a new drink down but did not take the empty glass away. Bar staff argued amongst themselves.
Food in buffet not great and we were served by the staff to prevent spread of infections. Food was only ever lukewarm. Laid out in a silly way - normally desserts etc are on separate serving areas, here everything in one so you had to go back to the start of the queue if you wanted a dessert.
Food in main restaurant was OK, but never hot either. Probably the worse choice of food I've come across. Certianly the Spirit late More last year had wonderful food on it and a totally different friendlier feel to it.
The "disco" room had a wet carpet the whole time we were there.
Norovirus was present on the ship - we were notified on the second day and people were dropping like flies. They got everyone off the ship at 8.30am in Palma which caused absolute chaos at the airport as they dumped everyone there are the same time even if your flight wasn't until the afternoon. Would not recommend the Dream I'm afraid. Celebration and Spirit are much better. Less

Cabin review: DE6174
Cabin 6174 - nicely situated mid ship. Cabin well decorated and one of the best showers on a Thomson ship we've had. Cabin steward was fantastic.
