Fabulous First Time Cruise
Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean
We pre-bought the soft drinks package but opted for not buying a wine/alcohol package More which turned out to be the best plan. We would have had to buy 2 packages which would have come to £500 but as we are not big drinkers it worked out a lot cheaper to just buy drinks as we go.
It was a bit odd sailing round the Med but using dollars in the casino and if we bought anything on the ship. We took dollars with us so didn't need to change any of our Euros.
Loved most of the ports of call. We liked Messina (Sicily) Kusudasi (Turkey) and the Acropolis in Athens. We liked the old part of the city but the new part was a mess with graffiti everywhere which was the same in Crete. All in all wasn't over impressed with what we saw of Greece as we have never been there before. We only did one planned excursion and did our own thing at the other ports of call which we were happy with.
The entertainment was brilliant and very well done. Not everything would be everybody's cup of tea but we were happy to try everything. All the crew were great, helpful and really friendly throughout the whole ship.
So that's it. The first cruise of many I hope. Less
Cabin review: JS Junior Suite
Had a cabin with a balcony which was pretty spacious with an adequate balcony which we did use several times to sit and read a book on. Found the corridors quiet of an evening, weren't disturbed by any noise whilst sleeping.Read All Junior Suite (JS) Reviews >>
