Mixed feelings

Sail Date: July 2013
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

We arrived in Miami on 6/29/13 on Spirit Airlines. We had no problems with transfers from Metro shuttle service.Check in went smooth we were on the ship by 12:30. Ate at Guys burgers for lunch great burger {my eleven year old grandson's favorite}.There were seven in our party and we had inside cabins on the main deck. The cabins were clean and stayed clean all week thanks to Harry. You do need a nite light but it is great for sleeping late in the morning or a quick nap.The food in the silver dining room was very good with plenty of choices.Paul our head waiter worked hard to please and provide for our group.

Service was not a problem from the Carnival crew.

The shore excursions were another pleasant surprise. In Belize we used Eco Tours for a snorkel trip to a small island that was beautiful and had awesome coral reefs around it. In Honduras we went to Bananarama Dive Resort for the day

this was the highlight of our trip.Beautiful beaches and the best More snorkeling ever right off the beach at the rock cliffs. We had a pizza lunch at the resort and it was great. You can schedule the tour ahead of time on line at Bananarama.

We did the stingray tour in Grand Cayman. We had been before but we wanted our grandson to experience. We booked all the tours in port and did not have any problems and saved a lot of cost over Carnival tours.

Now for the not so positive. The ship was packed and there were scores of unsupervised children and teens. Carnival caters to the younger groups and most of the activities include a lot of drinking and partying all night most of the time. This type of atmosphere allowed a lot of occasions to arise that should not be included in a family vacation.

The trip was enjoyable and would cruise again with Carnival but would choose a sailing when the crowds were more of an adult nature. Less
