Awesome time on Freedom of the Seas
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Port Canaveral (Orlando)
We sailed on the June 30, 2013 Freedom of the Seas cruise to the Eastern Caribbean with our two kids, ages 13 and 7. A wonderful time was had be all!
We had a good time on the beach in Coco Cay. It was a bit of an inconvenience to have to take a tender there and back, but it wasn't too long a wait. The small island was crowded, but we walked to Barefoot Beach, which wasn't too crowded.
St. Thomas was beautiful. We did the Sea Lion Encounter at Coral World, which the kids enjoyed. Because it wasn't offered as an excursion, we booked it directly and took a taxi.
We loved St. Maarten. We did an excursion that allowed for two hours to explore Marigot on the French side of the island, and then about two hours on a portion of Orient Beach. Loved the beach. Not crowded at all. Great beach chairs, right on the clear water. Awesome.
The food and shows were excellent. The Cruise Director, Richard Spacey, was funny and engaging -- he was made for this job. Our More waiter, assistant waiter, and bartender in the dining room were superb and great with the kids. We did the Flowrider (cool), played ping pong and mini-golf, and watched nighttime movies from the pool and hot tub.
We had adjoining oceanview staterooms on deck 3, which were perfect for our needs.
We loved basically everything about it. Highly recommend Royal Caribbean and Freedom of the Seas, in particular!! Less

Port and Shore Excursions
Good, but crowded, and must wait for a tender. Recommend walking to Barefoot Beach, which is less crowded.
Disappointed First Time Cruise...
The good, the bad and the ugly
Don't do it, just go ahead and...
nice ship -one major concern
