My husband and I travelled on the Thompson Dream, with our 15 year old daughter, for our annual family holiday. We had already been on 2 cruises before and so our expectations were high, and we were not disappointed.

The ship has had a bit of a make over and we were pleased to see that this has meant standards have at least been maintained, if not improved. We really enjoyed the entertainment in the Broardway show lounge and in the Argo lounge where live music accompanied our afternoon teas. The pool areas were always crowded and so we didn't spend much time there. There were always plenty of loungers available on decks away from the poolside. The service on the ship was very good. The waiters were always happy to see you and welcomed us with a cheery smile. Drinks and food orders were quickly delivered and there was very little queueing or waiting to be served. We took 2 half day and one full day excursions- found them to be well organised and informative, but they were a bit expensive.

Travel to the port was 'cattle class', as we have come to expect from Thomson, but from the moment we met the cruise team our holiday started. Embarkation was easy and luggage delivered to our room in timely fashion. We ate in the Orion restaurant each evening, where we were well looked after by the staff. The food was good and the menus varied. We particularly liked the buffet breakfasts and afternoon teas. We were well throughout the holiday and we saw no evidence of Norovirus. There was very little organised for teenagers on board, particularly if they didn't like sport or discos. The show team did an excellent job keeping everyone smiling onboard-they really do work very hard!We were really pleased with our experience on this holiday.

Cabin Review

Cabin IN

Refurbished bathroom and comfortable sleeping area. Quiet and handy for all areas of the ship. Very little vibration or noise. Air conditioning worked well and wasn't too noisy.
