This is our 5th cruise with carnival. This is the second year for this destination - same room, same ports.
Let me start by saying we love cruising, and had a good time. It is your own fault if you have a bad time cruising.
The lido deck has some good parties and activities, but has a lot of times the big screen is running nothing but Carnival theater on the screen/ There should be something that can be running at all times, such as a movie or video. This would be better than Carnival Seaside Theater.
The food seems to be going down hill. There are not as many selections, and the buffet is closed a lot. We also did not have the Mexican buffet as stated in the daily brochure. There seems to be some cut backs going on.
The ship was clean, and the staff was very friendly. I tipped our waiter (Bianca), but forgot our room steward (George). Sorry about forgetting him, he was great and remembered all 3 of us by name.
My wife was upset because only one poker table was working. The other one was broken and they are waiting on a part. She felt they should have put a dealer there for the people waiting to play. Makes sense.
Mahogany Bay was good. We walked to the beach and shopped a little
Belize was rained out with a cancelled excursion. This happened for Mahogany Bay last year.
Cozumel was good as usual. We went to Chankanaab. The snorkeling was great and the weather was good.
The return trip was laid back. After Friday night, it was like just get them home. Like I said, she needs some improvements, but still a quality cruise. We are thinking about taking a vacation without a ship next year to see if cruising is still the best bang for the buck. Thanks for listening, I hope Carnival will bring back the food and service we had on the Ecstasy and Conquest out of Galveston.
