We flew into Fort Lauderdale with a direct flight from JetBlue. It was our first time on JetBlue and we liked it. We stayed at a Comfort Inn that offered a shuttle to Port Miami, but I was disappointed with the quality of the place. You get what you pay for.

In the past, we have been able to board the cruise ship early, but this time we got an email saying not to arrive before 1 pm. Because of this, there were longer lines than what I am used to. Carnival did a good job of getting us through, though.

The cruise ship's decor is kind of flamboyant. It is not my style, but I did enjoy the cleanliness. The staff is constantly cleaning. Read more
