We traveled to Redhook Cruise Terminal, Brooklyn, N.Y. by car from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The trip was easy due to the directions I attained from the Redhook Port site on line and maps I printed from Google maps. We traveled and cruised with another couple from our neighborhood;they were on their fourth cruise;we were on our second. All of us had cruised only with Royal Caribbean before booking this cruise on the Crown Princess. I will be making some comparisons between the two cruise lines during this review.

We arrived at the terminal about 11:45 and there was some congestion due to people disembarking and embarkation passengers arriving at the same time. True to New York style the stretch limos were lined up everywhere. I pulled up to the drop off and before I could get out of my vehicle a porter had the back of my SUV open and was unloading our luggage . I quickly drove to the convenient terminal parking lot and rejoined my companions within five minutes. Embarkation was truly a breeze. We had preregistered on line so it took maybe five minutes to get to the security check point, do our pre-boarding picture, and receive our sea passes/room keys.

Princess gets major points for the embarkation process over Royal Caribbean. Much quicker much easier.
