This was my third Carnival cruise. I traveled with my husband and two adult sons (they had their own room next door E141). We traveled from North Carolina and stayed at the Comfort Inn in Cocoa Beach, FL. They have a great suite package. If you stay one night, they will keep your car while you cruise and shuttle you back and forth...all included in price (approx. $139.00) Suite was nice including a TV room and a small kitchenette. Doors were between the areas so some could go to bed early and not be disturbed by other family members wanting to watch TV. Great! Last year we stayed at the Radisson and there were so many people wanting to shuttle they were running several hours behind...we waited and waited...this year at Comfort Inn we were on the first shuttle and got on the ship very quickly. Embarkation was quick and easy. Smaller ships don't have as many people...therefore less lines. I liked it much better! The ship was great. We were worried after reading earlier reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. When we boarded the ship we went and ate lunch. By then, our stateroom was ready. The bathroom was much larger than on the Victory or the Glory. Older, but larger. We were conveniently located near the stairs and elevators. I thought we would hear a lot of people traffic in the hall...but did not. The room was a little smaller but still enough room to move about. The bedding was very comfortable. Our room steward Cocoa was wonderful. We seldom saw him...but he must have been hiding around corners...everytime we left the room...he would appear and make everything wonderful for our return. The entertainment was good. The comedy show on the first night was well worth it. The Curves show was OK except for one part where they were singing about having a wild party in hell and would you like to come too! They could have left that part out and all would have been well. The Far From Over (80's music) was great and worth watching! Casino: cheapest rates and the most pay-out are on the first night. I won at black jack. My sons won at the slots...slow going after the first day. Dining was great. We ate at the Sea View Dining buffet for breakfast and lunch. It was good. We ate dinner every night at the Ecstasy Dining room at the 5:45 early seating. Table 255. It was great to have a booth to ourselves. Our head waitress Erzebet (we called her Elizabeth) and assistant waiter Iputu were remarkable. They took their job very seriously and got us in and out in a timely manner. We had time to do other things instead of waiting between courses (like the larger ships). I liked that! The only downside was while sitting in the Sea View area sometimes the ships ceiling tiles vibrated LOUDLY while it maneuvered in or out of ports. Excursions: Freeport we did the Jeep Adventure ($99ea). This was amazing and I highly recommend it. Our guide was Sam and we went on a 75 mile journey of the island including residential (million dollar homes) and off road through the bush. We ate next to an undeveloped beach where they shoot the Corona commercials and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Editions. Beautiful doesn't even describe it. We ate lunch at a shelter next to the beach and dipped to cool off. Some people needed to bond with nature to use the restroom...no updated facilities anywhere after you start this adventure...but well worth the inconvenience. It was a 6 hour event. Nassau - we did the Astra Gardens and Zoo trip. Our tour guide was "Big Mamma" she drove the bus. She was very funny and full of information. We did a city tour and then the zoo. They had trained flamingo's. Funny and cool at the same time. We went back to the ship for lunch. We went shopping after lunch downtown and the straw market (cheap stuff and knock-off Rolexes and Gucci bags). It was pretty hot weather. Later that night (we were docked from 7am one day til 7am the next)...we took a cab to Atlantis. If you go after 8pm you can view the Digs free(normally $25 per person). It was amazing to see all the fish in the aquarium and the artifacts around. They had a large casino and many high end shops. Well worth seeing. The last fun day at sea I went to the spa and had a massage, facial and foot massage. I was pampered for two whole hours and loved every minute. Highly recommend it. It was my first massage EVER. Disembarkation: wasn't as easy as getting on. We waited down hallways in crowds carrying our luggage the whole way. This wasn't planned very well and we had bottlenecks and people were getting frustrated. The only way you could get your luggage picked up the night before was if you were physically unfit to carry it yourself...otherwise...you were self-assist. All-in-all we had a wonderful cruising experiencing. I highly recommend this cruise and ship.
