Fantastic relaxing two weeks

Sail Date: June 2013
Destination: Baltic & Northern Europe
Embarkation: Other

Embarcation at Greenock was smooth, arrived at cruise terminal at 2.15pm was in cabin and unpacked by 3.30pm with a beer in hand ready to sail away.

Cabin was inside which is what we always book as very rarely use the cabin, reasonable size although as we had asked room to be made up as a double this left very little floor space, however we had been advised this at the time of booking. Plenty of storage space will full length wardrobes which let my evening dresses hang well. Cabin decor a little tired could do with a paint job and some new decor in general, lighting was also a little poor. Bathroom fine but a bit short on storage, good size shower and plenty of hot water. Cabin was serviced efficiently without intrusion.

First 2 days were spent at sea and plenty of activities to suit all ages my husband and I are in our late forties and early fifties but found the activities were good that all could enjoy with those still young at heart. Our ports of call were More excellent Copenhagen, Tallin, St Petersburgh, Helsinki, Oslo and Stockholm. Ship docked early before breakfast at all ports except St Petersburgh which was 10am but we had two days there. Despite previous comments we found the disembarkation smooth with little or no delays. The organised trips were fantastic with great tour guides, (we still had moaners however but I sometimes think that is why they go to moan, one even complained that the signs were in Russian!!).

Drinks and meals on ship were excellent the fully inclusive package only offers local wine, spirits, stella, Boddingtons on draft and bottled beer. Other premium drinks are at half price, only downside was if you had a double you had to sing two forms each which was a bit of a nightmare. Food varied every evening with plenty to choose from across the menu, Secret Garden cafe had two themed nights one Indian and one Indonesian these were excellent with no pre booking required.

Entertainment was fabulous with a good variety of acts as well as the very talented hard working Boudicca Company.

All in all an excellent 2nd cruise with Fred Olsen and we are now trawling the brochures for our next. Less
