Ship Facts: Celebrity Eclipse Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Eclipse Deck Plans
FANTASIC CRUISE

Recieved an email from Celebrity a couple of days before departure asking us to arrive at the port of Southampton later than previosly directed, because of a DEEP CLEAN REQUIRED ,suspect an out break of stomach bugs.We arrived at 1-30 pm & were directed straight into embarcation & were on board by 2-15pm,no trouble at all.We were greeted on board with a glass of bubbly which was a good start as we were on a" free drinks package" from our cruise club.We were told our cabins would not be ready for a while & to get some lunch & await further anouncments, which we did ,getting into our cabin at 4pm after a few drinks at the bar .The cabin was very spacious ,a good sized wardrobe but the cupboards above the bed were a bit awkword to put clothes into & drawer space was limited.Tea & coffee making facilities were good to have, its nice to be able to have a drink at any time of day.The fridge was well stocked. The air con worked well .I set it the first day & never touched it again. After the obligitory lifeboat drill we sailed on time for the Baltics & St Petersburg.

The ship seemed to be well cared for & was clean in all areas. There are many bars to choose from & all are well set out with plenty of seating ,but the background music was sometimes a little loud as was the entertainment in the atrium on deck 3 ,it could be heard throughout many decks. We dined at night in the main restaurent ,Moonlight Sonata on deck 4.The food was very acceptable & the varied menu covered all needs. The steaks were always of a good size & quality. The waitor service at the table was good,as was the wine waitor service.Breakfast & lunch in the buffet on deck 14 was O.K. but seating at times was innadequate .But the choice of food was very varied & no one should have gone hungry.

The glass blowing on board was a different sort of entertainment & went down well,on sea days .Activities on board were quite varied as on all other cruise lines,The casino had plenty of every thing for all ,many slots & plenty of tables. We only saw a couple of shows in the theatre ,they were both very good & others told us the other shows were good..

The dailey news sheet of onboard activities & openning times of all areas was good as was the description of the ports visited. Our only critisism was that there were Hop On Hop off buses at most ports visited & the news sheet never listed this ,but what it did list was the cruise ship shuttle available for between $10 & $ 15 .

We took the 9 hour trip off the ship in St Petersburg,it was well worth it,even the Russian lunch was O.k.All the cities visited were different & all had there good & bad points. But I think Copenhagen took the biscuit ,2 beers cost 20 Euros (inc a tip ).

We found the Martini ice bar on deck 4 our favourite hang out ,where Putu & Imade & staff served us & everyone else very well & they put on , what they called "showtime" every night at arround 8-15pm,It amounted to 2 of them trying to outdo the other by making upto 10 different cocktails in mixer shakers, stacking them into each other, jumping onto the bar & tipping them from a height into a pyramid of glasses on the bar to great applause from the large crowd.Great entertainment 10 out of 10 to them!!!!

Our 14 day cruise ended back in Southampton where disembarcation began at 6-30am . We selected to leave at 9-15pm & booked our taxi to pick us up at that time.We were called to the theatre at 9-00 ,sat for 5 minutes & then asked to Disembark ,went straight to our cases picked them up & into our cab at 9-15 .Could not have been better.Celebrity cruises win every time there service is 5star !!!!!!!!
