To start off with, this is our 4th time cruising. Cruised on Princess and Carnival once and Norwegian twice, 4 all together. We went on Norwegian Jewel as a family of 4 ages 39, 34, 12, and 16.Embarkation: went smooth and quick. Got to the pier at around 11:00 A.M and got inside the ship at 11:30 after the check in. Food: - Breakfast: We had breakfast at the Garden Cafe around 8 A.M. They served pancakes, different kinds of cereals, omelettes, eggs, fish, desserts, etc.. breakfast was good!- Lunch: For lunch time we chose to eat at the Garden Cafe and the Topsiders Grill outside on the pool deck. In the Garden Cafe for lunch they have anything you'd like, like fish, different types of rice and chicken, soups, etc...- Dinner: We dined at the Azura Main Dining Room at around 7:30 P.M. Me, my husband and my son ordered steak which was very good. My daughter ordered pizza which was good too. They serve many things in the MDR...- Snacks: Hungry in the middle of the night? try out Blue Lagoon. This was one of my family's favorite place to eat at in the middle of the night, it was also good because it was opened 24/7. They serve chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, soup, etc... The tomato soup was REALLY good!Port Canaveral, Florida: Beach was amazing, salty water too. Restaurants all around the beach. We didn't really do any excursions but we definitely will next time. Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas:NCL's private island. Passengers were taken to the island on mini boats accompanied with the cruise, and we got there in about 10 min. The beach in GSC was okay, didnt really like it. Too much crabs on the beach, its better to just lay back and relax on the chairs. Nassau, Bahamas:We traveled around the island visiting stores. I can say that Nassau is a poor country. I don't think there was a beach for this island though...Entertainment:Late night shows were fantastic... July 4th pool party was amazing with the BBQ on the pool deck. Stardust Theater shows were great and enjoyable. Cabin: Since we ordered our cruise on the last minute, we ended up choosing the inside stateroom. It was small but we didn't bother complaining because we weren't in our room most of the time. I would suggest a balcony stateroom for a family of 4... Disembarkation: VERY slow... Crew members made passengers empty out the cabins by 8 A.M on the last day of your stay. Had to wait on line for TWO hours to come off the ship. By 9:45 A.M we were finally off the ship. I would DEFINITELY cruise with the Jewel or NCL again. I really like the priorities.
