My husband and I just took our first cruise aboard the Imagination to celebrate our 30th anniversary. I read a lot of negative reviews about this ship but in our six days on this ship we didn't see anything negative. The crew was friendly and polite, someone was constantly cleaning day and night. We met our room steward before we could open our door. Ronaldo kept our room and most important - the bathroom spotless. We always had clean sheets and towels. The food was delicious and if you left the table hungry, it was your own fault. Our wait staff, Tomas & Komang was great. Breakfast and lunch on the Lido deck was also great. We didn't do any shows because we were either dog-tired or we had to get up early for our excursions. We pre-booked our excursions on line with Carnival. In Grand Cayman, we decided to try the Beginners Scuba Diving. There were only six of us on this tour. We were taken by van on a 10 minute ride to Don Foster's Dive company. There, we filled out paperwork (you know the type that says "we are not responsible", etc.) and then given a 30 minute instructional on hand signals, etc. After this we were fitted for our fins, got our gear on and jumped in the pool to learn how to breath. One couple only made it ten minutes before they quit. I'm claustrophobic and tried my best but I could only breath for a few minutes before panic set in and I had to come up. Our instructors, Splash and Ben were so patient with us. One other girl and myself finally called it quits so my husband and the other girl's sister were the only two that went diving. They let me snorkel so I was able to take pictures of my husband when they first went down (about 10 feet). If you think you might like to scuba dive, we highly recommend Don Foster's Dive in Grand Cayman. In Jamaica, we booked the Mountain Bike/Snorkel tour. There were ten booked for this tour. We were driven 2,000 feet up a mountain on a "cow path" that at one time was paved. I thought I'd get to see a lot of scenery but 99.9% of the time, my eyes were on the road because the road was full of wash outs and potholes. I still had a blast. Our guide, Conroy aka the Gingerbread Man was great. We stopped several times to rest and we even stopped at a Jamaican Tavern for drinks. After our 8 1/2 mile trip we were taken by van to a cove for some snorkeling. I can snorkel but can't scuba dive - go figure! We swam for a while then headed back to meet our van. We had an option of going back to our ship or head to the shops. My husband, myself and another couple opted to shop. At the first shop, we were approached by a guy trying to sell us pot. A quick "No thank you" and he left us alone. The sales people are aggressive and love to bargain but they don't keep hounding you if you politely tell them no thank you. All and all this was a great trip. The weather was great, our fellow passengers were friendly and polite and so was the crew of the Imagination. For our money - we would go on the Imagination again.
