Flew in the day before and stayed the night at the Holiday Inn Miami Port. Really happy with our decision to stay here, the hotel was decent, big room with living room, right across from nice shopping area. We took a cab to south beach from our hotel (appx $20 one way) Day of cruise- stopped by CVS right by the hotel to get bottled water and pop to take on the ship. Got to the cruise terminal about 12:30pm by cab. The process was so easy and quick, we made sure to keep a bag with swim stuff and anything we might need on the ship in case it took awhile for our luggage, which it did. Luckily we did not need anything, it was around 6-7pm before all of our luggage was in the room. We ate at Guys Burgers for lunch, it was busy but pretty fast and Good! The ship is huge and beautiful, loved how new everything was. PROS:Hardly any kids on our ship, probably because we went middle of May before school was out, loved this!Loved the layout of the Lido deck, only wish the main pool was biggerThe outdoor movie screen was cool but didn't care for any of the movies they played.Getting on and off at Ports was smooth and easy, ship was always on scheduleLoved the Red Frog Pub, Jimmy was really good entertainmentWe had a balcony room which is the only way I would ever go, awesome view and loved waking up at port to go on the balcony, especially early in the morning.Food was decent but nothing to brag about, we pay the extra for the steakhouse on the last night, so happy we did it was delicious!Used the gym a couple times, really impressed and loved the view of the oceanRuby was a great room steward, cleaning several times a day and leaving different towel animals, super friendly.Liked the drink stations, never had the lemonade but water and tea was good for me, didn't need the soda so saved $$ as wellMake sure to eat at Seaside BBQ on sea days, it was only open from 12-2:30 and very crowded, but good buffet styleCons: the pools are very small, and no adult pool- the back area of the ship where the pool and pizza area are smelled like sewage every time we went back there, but there was usually a lot of people back there so maybe others didn't notice as bad as us.The Sapphire Dining was extremely cold temperature wise, but the service was pretty good we had anytime dining and never had to wait, but always had a different waiter, we didn't care.People constantly left towels on chairs all day and never saw anyone monitor this. Ports: Grand Turk- beautiful island, we did not plan anything just went to the shops right off the boat and stayed at Margarittaville the rest of the day. They have a nice pool, entertainment and the beach, all free to use. Also a FloRider surfing thing a lot of kids were doing, not sure the cost of it but fun to watch. Perfect weather.Cohos Rios Jamaica- did not plan anything for this port so just took off walking once we got off the ship, BIG MISTAKE. Hounded every 10 feet by locals to take a taxi ride and get my hair braided!! So annoying when you just want to walk, found a local beach for $2.50 per person, wasn't great so took up one of the taxi drivers to take us to Mohogany Beach, this beach was even smaller(free) but we had a nice lunch of Jerk Chicken,! Overall wished we would have just gone to the Margarittaville they had, oh well. overall did not care for Jamaica.Nassau- stayed at the Atlantis for out honeymoon 5 years ago so excited to go back for the day. we did the Aqua Adventure for $114 per person through Carnival. It was worth it bc it guaranteed u in the park and included lunch, we skipped the tour since we knew the resort. Loved going back only wish we had longer. Overall we had nothing to compare this to since it was our first cruise. I am definitely a fan of cruising and see why people do it so often. Hardly felt the boat rock, we had great weather, and I would probably go again this time of year.
