Ship Facts: Independence of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Independence of the Seas Deck Plans
1st time on Indy

Just back from Ireland, Norway & Bruge cruise on Indy. Have never previous cruised with RCI but the price was right and we love Norway. We usually cruise with P & O or HAL. I must admit was a bit wary about Indy as it looks on the ads like Butlins at Sea, however was pleasantly surprised.

Very clean and attractive ship and even with lots of people on you could always find a space to yourself. Loved the ice shows and the majority of the entertainment. Didn't eat in MDR as wanted to chill. Liked the selections in the Windjammer and enjoyed not having to get too dressed up. Tried both Portofino and Chops and think P & Os alternative paid dining better. Of the 2 liked Portofino's menu and service better.

Found the staff to be very friendly and chatty with good service. Especially liked the room service. Cabin was comfortable and would choose agin as central and quiet. All in all a good holiday and wouldn't hesitate to choose RCI if the price was right.

Forgot to mention drinks are expensive compared with P & O but the carafe of wine in Windjammers at $9.99 was a bargin plus you could drink half and fill your glasses up and take with you!
