We left Atlanta on Sunday October 8, a beautiful flight up and arriving in Quebec was just beautiful, leaves were gorgeous! The people we met on board the ship, were just marvelous, a lot of them from England, it was really good meeting the people, they actually made the cruise! That's all I can say good about this cruise, our cabin smelled of sewage, most of the time, the food was fair at best, We tried to get early sitting, but were told we were number 150 on a wait list, well I can understand why, most everyone must have been on a wait list. And the staff, well let's just say, they had one entertainer, old "smiley face" who hogged up most of the shows, I bet he ran his legs off running from one end of the ship to the other just to get to sing! Everytime you moved they were there, with cameras, snapping the shots and then trying to sell you the $20.00 photos. The people operating the tenders were all of foreign descent and could not speak the language, in Rhode Island, Princess hired a local tour boat to take us ashore and the people operating it, spoke to us like we were all stooges! . We had two incidences where people were taken off the ship, one had a heart attack and after we had turned around and went back toward shore, the Canadian Coast Guard came out and met the ship and took him and his family off. The other was person needing a transfusion, and they made a plea for blood donations, needless to say we looking for body bags next! They told during the first night's show, there were only 4 children on the ship and two of them was the captain's, in fact there was an off color joke made, by the cruise director, about getting the children to take swimming lessons near the propellers! This is true, it was the topic at dinner on several evenings, really in bad taste. Our poor cabin steward, he was way, way over worked, he tried all he could, but never could get things to come together, an excellent steward, just way too over worked, I felt very sorry for him and compensated him, personally, for trying as he did. During one of the nights the seas were so rough, right after dinner nearly everyone disappeared to the cabins, the ship was literally a ghost vessel... It splashed all the water out of the pool, and it took them 3 days to refill it! The ship replaced all the balcony chairs during our cruise, at times you couldn't even move up and down the hallways, because of the new chairs and trash, blocking the halls... At most of the lounges, the cigarette or cigar smoke was so thick we couldn't stay long, so we kept moving around the ship. No, we will not be sailing with Princess again, it was a cheap cruise, $1300 each, with airfare, and it showed it! We loved the itinerary, Canada and New England couldn't be beat, but I will find a better way to go next time!
