Have just spent 11 days cruising on this magnificent ship , departing from Civitavecchia(Rome) and sailing to Santorini, Istanbul, Kusadasi, Mykonos, Athens and Naples. we departed May 27th 2013. Excellent organisation in embarking some 3000 passengers. This ship is only a few months old, so everything on board was spic and span.Rooms were huge and spotlessly clean. Meals were superb (but servings a bit big for my husband and I), entertainment was world class. activities were numerous and covered interests for all ages. We could not fault the service anywhere on the ship. 10 out of 10.
Shore excursions were very good, but quite pricy compared to those you could arrange privately. we did private tours in Santorini and Kusadasi and took a taxi from Pireus to Athens with a great taxi driver called Mick, who was waiting at the port. We did a big tour to the amalfi coast, Salerno and Pompeii through the ship. ( and a half hours for $157 Aussie dollars including lunch- and going to amalfi by launch. That was a wonderful tour. We also did a tour of a sail up the Bospherus River in Istanbul plus tour of the city and the Grand Bazaar. Nice to say we have been to Istanbul but would never bother to go again. we stayed there overnight but would rather have had more time in other places. Only real complaint was the charges for drinks-plus 15% on each drink on top of the gratuities you pay each day. also at Kusadasi, they had a shuttle bus to take people from the ship to the edge of town- about a five minute ride and charged passengers $8US for a ticket to ride the bus(return fare). But many people just hopped on the bus who hadn't paid anything, They could have provided the buses for free. Also bottles of water in the cabin are $4us each, Beware. apart from that everything was excellent- especially organisation. Would definitelt go with them again
