After our first ever cruise holiday aboard the Island Escape we returned very disappointed, this cruise was part of my wife's birthday present and due to the terrible experience aboard the Island Escape it ruined the surprise. In general I booked an outside cabin on deck seven which was in a terrible state of repair. The cabin was very dated and showed signs of age and wear, nothing like the photo in the brochure. The air con unit sounded like a constantly boiling kettle which was very annoying. There were holes in the walls covered over with plasters, the bathroom door was bashed to bits.

The bathroom was very dated with taps & shower unit showing signs of age (discoloured chrome), the bathroom mirror needed replacing as the mirror backing was missing around the edges.Avoid eating on deck 10 as the food is appalling for a cruise ship, we have had better food in a 3* hotel, with salads served on hot plates, hot food served on cold plates that's if it was hot.Nova virus was on board but we think it was more due to food poisoning as most of the food was cold, even the gravy was cold. The all inclusive deal is not as clear as you think but also you get people who think they have to drink all day & night with the minority being drunk & rowdyspoiling the atmosphere for the rest of the ship.Be warned that if you are planning a cruise we advise you choose a higher standard ship.

Cabin Review

Cabin OT

Cabin number 7048.Very dated, damaged and tired fixtures & fittings.Quite small overall, noisy air con unit. The only plus is closer to most amenities.
