EmbarkcationArrives at Newcastle after a 31/2 hour drive this was extremely easy and quick no hanging about and we were on the ship very quickly. First impressions that the ship was extremely small especially as the ferry that was parked next to it was more than twice our size. The SpiritWhen we did get aboard we were shown to our cabin which was an inside cabin on deck 2 the cabin was a reasonable size and as previous reviews plenty of room for hanging clothes, as our cases hadn't arrived we decided to explore the ship, we did try the lifts but as many people were embarking the lifts were very slow so we took the stairs which we did for the rest of the trip as this was quicker than waiting for the lifts. Now for the noise, yes you do hear the engines from everywhere on the ship and there is a vibration all the time but on this trip it wasn't too bad, and I am not a great sailor so I would tell you if it was bad.the ship is small compared to other cruise ships, as we saw when docked in a few ports and other ships were there also.the crewNothing negative can be said about any of the crew, what the ship lacks in size more than makes up for with their enthusiasm and nothing was too much trouble, our room was cleaned and tidied twice a day, thanks to Inna and Oksana . The dining Room waiters were also tremendous on this ship going out of their way to get to know your name and having your seat ready, a special mention to Elvis and Ren,who made our holiday special, but every member of staff in all the bars, in the broadway show lounge, and in the lido buffet restaurant went out of their way to be helpful and polite even though they worked very long hoursthe Tripswe booked three trips on this ship , they are very expensive, and we were told we could have done them on our own for much less, but we decided we might not be back in Norway for a long tome and wanted to see as much as we could. The day trips are quite long but you are guaranteed to get back to the ship in plenty of time, this was our choice and plenty of people did their own thing while in port. Can I just say Norway is magical and the scenery is spectacular, everywhere is clean and tidy the water is crystal clearthe Entertainmentthis was also second to none, the entertainment team are a very young but very talented lot ,the singers danced and the dancers sang, they put a different show on every night and also did shows through the day and classes through the day , Richard the Cruise Director kept everything together to ensure that the entertainment was suitable for all the passengers, so you has classical music , a pianist, a group that sang pop/rock etc, in the High Spirits bar the team kept everyone amused with quizzes and game showsOverall satisfactionwe had a marvellous holiday, met some really nice people, the ship was very laid back and informal and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves the food was tremendous in all the restaurants lots of choice 24/7, free tea and coffee all the time served in the lido, this served food all the time alsoSo if your looking for value for money, and want a laid back but funfilled cruise this is for you , most of the passengers were older but that didn't stop them having a great time, and the crew went out of their way to ensure you has a great time
