Our vacation started with a red eye flight from Las Vegas to Ft. Lauderdale. Port Everglades is a short ten minute drive from the airport, about ten dollars by cab,or you can arrange a shuttle on your own. We got in line and were seated in a nice air conditioned building. After about an hour wait we were allowed to board the Caribbean Princess. She is a huge ship in their grand class, and gorgeous from bow to stern. We found our way to our mini-suite on the dolphin deck, number nine. Our mini suite was very nicely appointed, clean and spacious for a cruise ship. We also were impressed with the larger balcony, however it is un-covered above,so if you like your privacy, the dolphin deck may not be your cup of tea. After our safety drill,we were off to the sail away party. The crew and band were a lot of fun, and able to get several hundred of us singing and dancing,as we set sail for Princess Cay in the Bahamas. The food was good most of the time, and we enjoyed the different varieties in all the various eateries. We had anytime dining, and made our daily reservation each morning,so we would not have to wait. Princess has so much going on, each nite, so we wanted to finish dinner early enough, to enjoy all our favorite shows, and activities. Club Fusion was our favorite place to party,as they have a wide variety of fun things happening there. We really enjoyed Princess Pop Star, which is a nightly karaoke competition. The band in club fusion was great and versatile, they could play all kinds of music, well.,the club had a huge dance floor, and a fabulous speaker system with hi-tech lighting to enhance the room. All the outdoor activities, from co-ed survivor,to co-ed drink contest, really made the cruise fun, whether you were playing along, or just watching. The overall service of the crew was generally good. They all work very hard ,and definitely deserve the daily ten dollar gratuity. Our room steward was very helpful, and never far away, when we needed him.You may want to have your own can opener around,we ordered some beers, and could never open them because our room did not have one.

Shore Excursions- we really loved the private island of princess cay.The ship sends its crew ahead to ready the beach and buffet. It is a beautiful part of the Bahamas, where you can swim, snorkel, and just relax in clear turquoise waters.Jamaica was also beautiful, especially the Dunns river falls. We stopped by Jimmy Buffets bar and grill on the beach, for a cold one,and enjoyed the wild partiers ,and festivities.Grand Caymen was my favorite island. The people there are very cordial, and we had the experience of a lifetime, swimming with the sting-rays in a beautiful sandbar setting.Cozumel was a lot of fun, as we took the party boat over to a secluded beach for the day,and enjoyed some excellent buys, shopping. The weather, and seas couldn't have been better,as we spent a lot of time out on our balcony in total solitude.Disembarkation was not to bad,we were off the ship after a short breakfast, and at the airport by ten-thirty.All in all, a great time, on a really fun ship. It was a bit crowded, from time to time, but certainly not to the point, of being a real pain.My personal motto, cruise to cure the blues. This one certainly did!
