My husband and I sailed on the Enchantment of the Seas for a 5 night cruise, departing Ft. Lauderdale on 10/9/06. This was our first cruise. I have delayed doing a cruise because I was scared of sea sickness. I can't believe I waited so long! I never once got sick. =)

We drove down to Ft. Lauderdale the day before the cruise and stayed at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa right on Ft. Lauderdale beach and 5 minutes from Port Everglades. It is a great hotel and I definitely plan to stay there again for all cruises that we take out of Ft. Lauderdale.

We were told that boarding didn't start until 2pm. We checked out of the hotel at about noon (we requested a late check out) and we went straight to the port. There is security at the entrance of the all roads leading into the port so have your proof of cruise and ID ready to show.
