Check in at the Port was fast and organized. Do not let the age of the ship fool you, while the Explorer is showing some signs of time on the outside, on the inside she remains a majestic beauty. This ship is very well maintained with her public spaces appearing as if they could have been created days ago.
We had a balcony state room with an ocean view and found it to be nicely sized, clean and with plenty of storage space.
The food in both Portofinos and the main dining room was excellent. While the Windjammer buffet seemed to do a nice job covering the basics, the adjacent Jade buffet offered ethnic creations that were great.
Most nights we passed on the main show in favor of some of the smaller groups playing on the ship. The Take Four Quartet in Dizzy's Lounge made our agenda daily and provided crowd pleasing entertainment (thanks Jonny, JoJo, Aldo and Russell).
Service on board was outstanding, Tamara and Kenger in the dinning room and Ralph in the crows nest seemed to know what we wanted well before we did.
Overall this was a great ship that we look forward to sailing on again. From check in and boarding to dinning, port calls and disembarking, Royal Caribbean was very well organized.
