We returned to Thomson cruises after 2 years travelling independently and trying other cruiselines

RCL & Celebrity. Friends had tried Majesty earlier in the year and enjoyed it but warned us about the small cabins. We booked in January and upgraded to an Outside plus cabin on Deck 6/7 and got a drinks package half price. I was concerned that I would miss the balcony which we normally had but we were at the back on Verandah deck so we didn't feel enclosed. The cabin was plenty big enough with 2 beds ( only narrow) with 2 sets of drawers & the minibar in between. The wardrobe was small but we had enough drawer space & the bathroom was compact. We could easily move around at the same timje. It was very quiet as there were only 4 cabins in our area. We were over the Jubilee Lounge so it was noisy at night but as we were normally in there enjoying the entertainment it didn't bother us. We always take earplugs just in case of noise anyway. The food was very good as we had experienced with Thomson before. I don't eat meat but my husband eats nothing but so we were both pleased. As seasoned cruisers we ensured that we kept the same table & waiters every night so you get the service. Yes you really should give a tip at the end of the cruise but if you get the service it is worth it. They looked after us very well, the wine was constantly topped up ( a nice bordeaux) and we kept the table for 2 so not having to make conversation. The shows were good, the young dancers & singers so enthusiastic & professional. One night we couldn't get a seat back in the Jubilee Lounge to see the 11.30pm special with the Comedian. This needs to be looked at as it was the same for several of the one off shows Everywhere we went the staff were obliging & friendly, nothing too much trouble. One afternoon we did have to wait a long time to get served in one of the bars but more people were on board than normal due to the weather so they quickly put extra waiters on. The quizes etc in Royal Fireworks were good as well and quite entertaining. Again it could get packed and difficult to get a set. I wish that they would start the Disco earlier, 1130pm is too late. If they started at 10.30pm some of the other places wouldn't be as packed. It also meant that everyone crosed in just after 11.30pm so then there was no room to sit or dance!!

The only complaint I have is that the service at Corfu Airport on arrival was awful, herded like sheep! The check in for the cruise was slow also, only 4 desks open rather than the 8 which should have been. At least the cases were there though once we got to our cabin. The ship was also quite unstable, the last 2 nights were very rough and many people suffered from seasickness on the last night, I had to take tablets & still felt queasy yet I am fine on the very big ships. It was suprising how much the ship was thrown about.
