This was our 13th cruise. All on carnival. This was our second trip on the Elation. We traveled from Mississippi to New Orleans Saturday morning. As VIP Platinum cruisers we found the embarkation to be quick and easy. We were on the ship and in our room within 10 minutes. We has plenty of time to enjoy lunch in the buffet before the lifeboat drill. We always dread this drill, but know its necessary. Next we changed and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon on the Serenity Deck. We had a Ocean view room on Upper Deck.

Sunday was a beautiful day at Sea and we again enjoyed the Serenity Deck. We had no problems getting chairs there. We started each day with breakfast in the dining room and we enjoy meeting new people each day. Lunch was usually at the buffet and we always found something good. We check the menu posting outside the dining room to decide if we want to eat there at night and sometimes we eat elsewhere. Often the buffet had the same meals and is much quicker. We had lunch in the dinning room one day and it was very good.

The first port was Progreso and we got off the ship and walked to the beach. The area has improved since our last visit there. Vendors did not pester us as bad as previously and we enjoyed a quiet day there.
