I think the NCL Epic is too big for their own good. The service was not up to NCL standards. Altohough, they have many dining options, most are an 'upcharge'. So, the 'included' dining options were overbooked and crowded. We had to wait for every meal in the 'included' restaurants, no matter of the time we tried. The food was usually cold upon serving. Finding someone to go the extra step, was the exception, unlike our other cruise experiences. When speaking to staff, they did not appear happy, in general. We could not find any that said they would return to the Epic. The ship is also difficult to get around. Even on the service decks (5,6,7), you could not reach one end to the other. You had to change decks to continue. Most of the 'features' were also an 'upcharge'. It appears very nickle and dime. The wifi service (also an upcharge) was terrible and difficult to use and very slow. I would sail NCL again, but, I would definetly go back to a smaller ship next time. If this was my first NCL experience, I would have not tried them again. Luckily, we had much better experiences on the prior ships. We had much better luck using the 'local' excusions, than the ship booked ones. They were less expensive and more personalized (less touristy).
