The buffet was okay during breakfast, the omellates were good and there was a decent selection to choose from. During Lunch you had a choice of a burrito bar, cold or hot sandwiches and panini's, whatever the buffet served and Indian food. The burritos were good, the paninis were good but the buffet didn't really seem too appetizing most of the time. The pizza was opened 24 hours and that was very good, along with frozen yogurt and ice cream. The dessert wasn't really too appealing, the cookies and fruit were very good but the cake didn't do it for me. The pinnacle was a different story, you need to go to this steak house at least once. The Black Pearl and Gold Pearl are the assigned dinner rooms... they served the same thing, it was honestly hit or miss there. Some nights you would order something and the food wouldn't be too desirable and other nights they were fantastic. It really depended on what you ordered and how they cooked it. I mean after all, Carnival isn't too known for their food. I wasn't much for their cruise elegant nights. One night is great but two? eh....
If you're an older couple or a younger couple with no kids, this ship isn't really for you. A lot of children running around and when you're at sea the serenity lounge for adults (21+), and the adults only pool were jam packed. The main pool was always jam packed and always had kids running around, jumping in the pool and hot tub. By what it seemed like, the kids didn't like camp carnival very much either. Serenity remained serene and quiet despite it being crowded, all the adults were there for the same reason after all, to relax. The mini golf was fun but it was very windy up there and the boat sometimes rocked the wrong way which I guess added to the challenge. The slide was a blast, as well. A late night hot tub session was very nice though.
The staff on the ship was amazing. The stewards were very energetic, clean and did a good job. They left nice towel animals for you. The entertainment crew was fun all along. The restaurant staff was great, but the steak house staff was much better.
The comedy club for 18+ was packed but totally worth going to and a total blast, with the exception of clearing the lounge after every comedy show in between. The showtime shows in the theater were for the most part good, but sometimes a bit corny. But fun. The comedy was by far the best thing in the night life though on this ship.
Cloud 9 spa is another thing you must indulge in on this ship, I can't say anything bad about this lounge as it was totally worth the money.
The drinks were no more expensive than your local bar and the bartenders were fun. It's simple to sneak alcohol onto this ship, just get a rum runner and stick it in your carry on, they do not search carry-ons and my luggage wasn't touched.. They put everything through a medal detector.
