My sister and I went on a cruise with our 71 year old Father this month(it was his dream trip, and we left our husbands and kids to enjoy a week with him). Traveled the Danube from Vienna to Nuremburg. What a wonderful time we had! First of all the River Ambassador is a beautiful ship. It is the smallest of the fleet: we found this to be a plus. The customer service given was the best we had ever seen. We expected 5 star service, but this crew went above and beyond in making sure we were enjoying our week. They are so kind, and at the end of the week, we felt like we were leaving good friends behind! We had 2 rooms; each with a French Balcony. They are small, but make up for it in the luxury of the bedding, pillows, flat screen tv, turn down service, bottled water and candy in the room. Marble bathroom with top end shampoos/soaps/lotions. We found them to be quite comfortable, and with 2 sets of shelves, and a large closet, my sister and I had plenty of space--we brought plenty too, so that is saying alot!--store your suitcases under the bed once unpacked-they have a hair dryer-no need to bring one.We weren't in our rooms much anyway, too busy on the tours, and enjoying the company of the other guests in the lounge and up on the sun deck--gorgeous. We found that with the small ship, the guests were friendly, and we got to know them along the way, it was really fun!We enjoyed the tours! Loved Piet our tour manager. He was informative, friendly, and made each excusion a wonderful adventure. He gave many "fun facts" about each stop and tour. And we found the tours to be amazing! Our favorite was the concert in Vienna with our Dad. My sister and I took the 33km bike tour with a small group and had the best time! A must do if you can...the bike guides are Uniworld exclusive and just had the absolute best day! We stopped for lunch in a Biergarten and met back up with the River Ambassador at the next port--amazing! Oh, and the food, the food--delish! Much of it is all fresh and local. The chef is excellent and had something for everyone--Dinner's were a five stars! And the desserts-Wow! Breakfast and lunch were buffett style service, excellent, excellent. You could also get a tray and take your lunch or breakfast up to the sundeck to enjoy the sunshine. My sister and I also enjoyed Yoga one morning, and chair massages another day with the Spa. Take advantage of this if you have the time. The chair massages were only $25/a bargain! The River Ambassador and Uniworld exceeded are expectations. Leave your worries behind on this RIver Cruise! Can't wait for the next one!

Cabin Review

Standard Stateroom with French Balcony

Cabin 1

Had the French Balcony rooms! High end luxury bedding/pillows/shampoos/lotions. Small rooms, but plenty of storage on the shelves and large closet. Loved the flat screen TV and movie choices. The bathroom is marble with a walk in shower. Hair dryer is provided. Bottled water in the room every day with candy, and enjoyed the turn down service at night. Big plush robes and slippers were very nice. Loved the "pillow menu".
