We arrived Barcelona on day of sailing, took a "Taxi Airport Transfer", excellent people, to the ship by pre-arranged booking on the Internet. We went in with a couple thinking we would all save on the fare, but that turned out not to be the case. It's cheaper for a couple to take a taxi from the rack to the ship.
Check-in was very smooth after the computers came up. As one reviewer mentioned, the rank and file got in quicker than the priority people, in some cases.
Our room was very nice and ready. We lucked out and got a slightly larger veranda than others. The bathroom has a night light on all the time, it was one of the best things about the room.
Our cabin steward kept our room very well.
A hand-held shower would have been nice, but the shower was nice overall.
The TV has a standard display. HD would have been nice. I guess we're spoiled.
The weather, ship's speed, etc. channel was not accurate. While in port the display said we were at 15 knots.
The ship was ship-shape throughout. Lights, plumbing, etc. all working well.
We loved the eight elevators. Seldom a wait.
The overall value for the room was excellent, but we noticed continual advertisements and hawkers throughout the ship offering liquor packages, special dining packages, etc. We thought this was overdone.
We had open (select) dining. The service far out paced the food. I'll say the food was good, but not great.
Our waitstaff out did themselves pleasing us. They remembered all our special requests.
One wine sommelier was a smarty-pants, the other was excellent.
We had one anniversary dinner at Silk. The table and the waitstaff were excellent, but the food was again, good, but not exceptional.
The production shows were fun to watch, but the single entertainers were again good.
The magician's tricks were classics (old) and the pickpocket was hard to believe.
Service throughout the ship was excellent overall. Everyone bent over backwards to please us or fulfill a request.
The shore excursions we booked thru the ship were excellent as were the tour guides. They wanted us to enjoy ourselves. Excellent value here.
Two ladies at the Shore Excursion desk were rude, and gave out wrong info, but that was the exception.
One photographer was rude to my wife. We told him off and reported him.
The customer service people were excellent and very understanding and accommodating.
Overall, I say the Equinox on this cruise was a thumbs up.
