Wonderful Repeat Cruise on FOS
My hubby and I became hooked on cruising when we celebrated our 30th Anniversary on the Freedom of Seas in 2010. We decided to do a repeat cruise on her to celebrate both our 33rd Anniversary and Mother's Day, I am very happy we did!

We took a flight to Orlando on Friday, May 10th, and arrived without delay. After collecting our checked bag we headed to pick up our reserved rental car from Budget. We set the GPS for Radisson at the Port and off we went, only taking a short detour to Walmart to get personal items.

When we arrived at the hotel we found there had been a room mix up. The staff was accommodating, made amends by giving us a free upgrade to a suite and it was REALLY SWEET!!! The living room was nicely furnished and had a nice sized flat screen TV which hubby loved, a nice sized dining area, french doors that led to the bedroom where we found a king size bed and a jetted tub in the bedroom. There was a flat screen TV in the bedroom too on a swevel pedestal so you could watch it from bed or the tub. After checking out our room we headed to the port to watch the Enchantment of the Seas sailaway which for us is a precruise must when sailing out of Port Canaveral. We had a nice dinner at Fish Lips, we highly recommend the Lobster roll dinner and crab cake dinners you will not be disappointed. I decided to try the Fish Lips punch it's a combo of Raspberry juice blended with pina colda, topped with whipped cream and a cherry. It was really yummy!

On Saturday we drove over to Downtown Disney to spend the day which is always fun spot to hang out. On Sunday morning we returned the rental car to Budget, and the rental company shuttled us to the cruise terminal. (There is NO charge for the shuttle) We arrived at the cruise port at 1030, after tipping the driver and the baggage handler we headed into the terminal. The line was short which made going through security rather quick, we got our sea pass at the counter and at 1100 we were on the ship. Out of the four cruises we have done this was by far the quickest and smoothest embark we have experienced.

Once onboard the ship we walked around and reacquainted ourselves with our home for the next week. Freedom is a beautiful ship! We loved the new jumbotron screen in the pool area, it is a nice touch. We got some lunch at Windjammers. I must say I was a bit disappointed that they didn't serve Honey Stung Chicken on the buffet; I look forward to it each cruise. I was happy to learn it was still available through room service so of course I made sure to order it during the week.

After our mandatory muster we headed to our room to change for dinner. We chose My Time Dining, were seated on deck 5 in Galileo. Our servers were Devendra & Vincent; both of these gentlemen were wonderful! They are witty, professional and very thorough....we never wanted for anything! After the first night when we arrived in the dining room we were served soda and lemonade without us having to ask. We dined in Chops one night also, the food there is delicious and the service was wonderful!

This was a relaxacation for us, most of our week was spent lounging in the solarium or main pool areas. We took in a few shows but most we had already seen since this was a repeat cruise for us. We enjoyed the gym facilities, saunas, & spa also. The nightly trivia games in the Schooner Bar are a lot of fun! Hubby took part in the Golf challenge and won! Richard Spacey was hilarious, hands down the best Cruise Director I have experienced! He & his assistant Jamie made our cruise experience even better!

We took part in two excursions. The first was 7 mile Beach Break without lunch in Grand Cayman. We didn't really care for the Grand Cayman excursion, although we had a very nice driver who gave us some history of the island. The chairs were way too close and the sand was rather hilly which made beach access difficult if you have a physical limitation.

The second excursion was Passion Beach Break in Cozumel. We absolutely loved the Cozumel experience, highly recommend it & would definately do it again. The beach was breathtakingly beautiful, easily accessible although it is a bit of a walk from the pier. The buffet lunch (all drinks included) was wonderful....really enjoyed the guacamole! I felt we had adequate time to play and lounge. The tour guides were all very entertaining.

It was sad to leave Freedom after a great week of fun onboard. Our only consolation was that we have booked another cruise.....WooHooooo....! We had an easy disembark from the ship, we did Express Departure, and we were off the ship at 0700. Budget picked us up; we got a rental car to head home.
