Ship Facts: Pride of America Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Pride of America Deck Plans
great cruise, but some minor issues
This trip was for our 30 th anniversary. We flew ll hours from NYC on Hawaiian Airlines on Friday and arrived at the Ilikai hotel at 4:30pm. We rented a car from Thrifty at the airport (used the corporate #which can be found on CC). It was $28 to park, but there is cheaper parking in area if u want to look. We had a beautiful room overlooking the Marina. We ate at the Outback for dinner, and had our Mcdonalds breakfast on our balcony at 6Am. We had 8 am reservations for the Arizona, which was very moving. Rent the audio tour, it was great. We finished there at 10:30 and went to the Aloha stadium flea market which is nearby.

It was fun, but I wouldn't make a separate trip.

EMBARKATION: arrived before noon, it was easy. There was entertainment while we waited to enter the ship.Women received a flower lei, Men a beaded lei and of course the obligatory photo. When we boarded the rooms were ready.

SHIP: our room was small, not a lot of storage and needed some TLC. The rails on balcony needed paintingthe wallpaper had mildew, and the couch looked dirty. Some of that 30 million dollar invested needed to go toward maintenance. Tip, there is storage behind the bathroom mirror. The back of the ship had an adult area with a small pool, cushioned lounges, hot tub. the bar played loud music and smoking was allowed. The rest of the lounges around the ship looked old and beat up. The dining areas were all very nice. The theater always had empty seats, the public areas were American themed and very nice. Nice gym

ACTIVIES; the shows were great. We liked the polynesian show, beatles and 4 seasons tribute, willie k, beau ? We also did the lei making classes. I also took a zumba type class.

SERVICE: Great staff. We have been on 16 cruises and this is one of the best. I really appreciated them meeting up with us for our roll call and a follow up meeting at the end of the cruise.

DISEMBARKATION: EASY. we did walk off and there were many taxis lined up to take us to the Outrigger

reef (about $20 with tip)

We enjoyed this ship, it is a great way to see Hawaii. our only problem was that our adjacent balcony cabins were chain smokers, and do to respitory problems, this rendered our balcony useless. I hope

NCL will change there smoking policy.
