This was our (my wife, our friend, and I) first time cruising with Norwegian. We had heard mixed reviews, but I wanted to try them out and everything else fit nicely for us, so we went for it! Definitely worth it! The 3 of us shared a balcony room on the 9th floor (9219). The location was perfect! A couple of floors away from most of the food and entertainment, either direction we went... The room and our bathroom could have been a little bigger, but we managed. The storage lacked a little, but to us it was just another part of the adventure... The public spaces - where you spend most of your time, anyways - were fantastic! Always plenty of room for us to find a place to sit comfortably, get a drink, or a snack. The room service was definitely lacking. Sometimes we would call and it would take an hour, sometimes 5 minutes. One morning breakfast was wrong - twice - and 45 minutes late! (Danishes, fruit, and cereal) The food was excellent, too! We tried all of the restaurants - 2 main dining rooms, buffet room, and 3 "extra" restaurants. The french place was the best value - great food, great service, and you could order whatever you wanted to try off of the menu - no limit. The steakhouse was delicious, with breathtaking views, wonderful service, and melt-in-your-mouth steaks - but a little on the higher end of the price range for already paying for a cruise. The Italian place was alright overall. It turned really dark in the dining room after the sun went down and they didn't turn the lights up inside. And, I mean dark - like we could barely see our food. The food was so-so, but the tiramisu was PHENOMENAL!! The best I've ever tried!! Perfect texture. Perfect flavor blend. Just perfect! Great Stirrup Cay was a very nice bonus. The food on the island - lunch buffet - was included in the price of the cruise as well as the entertainment. There were some water sport type add-ons we could have tried out - snorkeling, etc - but didn't. Others seemed to be enjoying themselves... Tons of good quality beach lounge chairs to lay out or sit on with your friends and family. Waiters for bar services right to your chair, or you could walk up. Fair drink prices - not like a theme park. Can't wait to go again!

Port and Shore Excursions

Port
Took mini-bus/taxi over to Lucaya. 15 minute ride. $10 each round trip. Very nice air-conditioned casino. Billy Joe's on Lucaya Beach!!! Conch Salad: $11/pint!! MADE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU! Delicious! Rum punch: $8/16oz. Straw market - heavy peddling!! Haggle with them. Most have the same stuff. Check out the nicer shops next door, too.

Took a short - half mile-mile - walk to the Queen's staircase. Very nice. Free. Great photo spot! Took a 15 minute cab ride - $4/person - to Ardastra Gardens. Cute little garden area. Great to watch the trained, marching flamingos. Got to feed the Lori Parrots, too! $15/person entrance fee. Donations promoted. Great photo ops! Walked down the hill - toward the water - to catch a bus back and went to Arawak Cay. Great photo spot for the light house and the ships in port. Beautiful beach, too. Local food vendors on site. Bus back to port area = $1.25each!
