Very Very Nice Cruise,

Sail Date: April 2013
Destination: Middle East
Embarkation: Dubai

First let me say that we are experienced cruisers and have taken many cruises all over the world on all sizes of ships.

SHIP

The ship is OK even if you taken recent mega ships. The recent refit was great and really improved what otherwise would have been a tired vessel. It's easy to get around, nice size. Things are not consistent though. The windjammer cafe is forward while the dining room is in the rear. The entertainment is forward. There is a small serving area in the rear as part of the solarium, the park cafe. The new centrum looks great and provides a nice show alternative to the theatre and anchors aweigh lounge. Negatives. The gym is way too small and will only suffice for minimum maintenance. Can get too crowed often. Decent walking track but beware of the winds. There is a secret entrance to the spa for 8th floor suite occupants. The loyalty desk is also on the 8th floor suite heavy floor. This was planned. TV stinks. Very little if anything the whole More cruise. We suspect RCL wants you to purchase there grossly overprices internet cafe which of course is on deck 8.

ROOM. The Junior Suite was nice. Choose a cabin as far back as possible due to the noise on the entertainment/food deck above. Lots of room and storage space. Nice balcony and view especially when going thru the Suez Canal. It unfolded right in front of you. Good bed and bedding. Nice new flat screen if any thing was on. Gripes. Service was so so. I expected more from a suite. The shower curtain was too long on the inside of the bath tub and you must watch getting out of it. They painted over the tracks during the refit and the curtains to the balcony don't close properly which lets too much light in in the morning. The 8th floor is nice as they make it very user friendly for its guests. This is planned. Elevators are nice and there is enough of them. Pool area was nice and could always get a lounge chair.

FOOD. Breakfast. The windjammer cafe was decent for breakfast but not for lunch. Skip it and go to the dining room if you can. The dining room is elegant on the lower floor and less so above. Dinners were good. Didn't do specialty restaurants. The park cafe was so so but is your alternative at times. Best meal we had was off shore in Rome. Don't expect the same on a ship even if you pay a ton.

ENTERTAINMENT. Was decent. The RCL singers and dancers were professional and the entertainment at the pool, the dynamic duo Reggae duet were superior. The other entertainers were decent and worth sitting through. Good cruise director.

SHORE EXCURSIONS. The ships excursions were overpriced. Find a private tour. Caveat, if you think there may be traffic problems like in Cairo, I would consider the ship otherwise you may be left at the pier.

OVERALL. A very nice ship and cruise. Less
