Me the missus and our 14 year old son. We booked our cruise after friends raved about one they had last year. They too were one this one on the lovely Sea Princess. Travel to Southampton from Belfast was painless. Our flight arrived on time and we took 2 taxis to the terminal - 7 of us in the two families. We arrived at the terminal very early, but found the attendants quite helpful. I have mobility difficulties and an baggage attendant looked after our stuff to allow us to enter the lounge. Passage through this was trouble free and friendly. Time passed quickly and we were on board. We made our way to E324 and our stuff was outside the door within a few minutes. Cabin small but tidy. Cabin steward got to know us by name and was friendly. As were all the staff except for one dour girl in the clothes shop. We enjoyed walking around the decks. first day spent in Amsterdam. What an experience going up the canal through the locks. My son and I stayed up that night for the return trip just to see all the lights. In Amsterdam we took the bus and canal cruise. brilliant. Loved every minute. We pre-booked all our trips on the cruise internet site. Next stop Oslo. The Scenery was fantastic. I got up around 6ish to take it all in on the way into Oslo. Our trip took us to the olympic ski jump and a very nice tour of Oslo. Copenhagan and Helsingborg were gorgeous and we all enjoyed our trips. On all our trips the guides were helpful over and above the call of duty. I appreciated having the front seats on the buses kept for the likes of myself with disabilities, very thoughtful. Our only reservation regarding the trips was the gathering in the theatre beforehand. It seemed a long wait on some days. Food. We used the Horizon almost every day. We had selected anytime dining and used the Trivia in the evenings. Staff were first class in their attendance. The selection of food was a concern to me because of problems from surgery, but there is nothing to be concerned about. We had excellent food anywhere we went to eat. The selection in Horizon was beyond belief. Our 14 year son abandoned us except for the tours because of the fabulous teenage club and facilities. Highly recommended. Will health permitting do it again with Princess Cruises and I wasn't paid to say that! Had a day to spare on the way home and us boys went to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu. A dream come true. Stayed at the Holiday Express or something like that, basic, but clean. Taxis worked out very well for us, with friendly drivers. Can't wait for our next Princess Cruise. And if it passed my expectations, it will surpass yours.
