Carnival Fantasy - Fun with Amazing Staff and Entertainers
We live in Charleston and was very happy to try the great ship that is always in our port. Great ship, incredible staff - the food was fantastic. Our waiters Rafael, Sherwin and Seville were the most amazing servers. They were pleasant and went out of their way to make our cruise great. They were always one step ahead of us. The rest of the crew including management should learn from them. At the end of the cruise felt like we were saying good bye to our family members Rafael, Seville and Sherwin. These guys should be given incentive pay. They work tirelessly 6 months of the year and seem very happy with their work and the ship.
Great job Jessica the onboard shopping expert. Thanks to her guidance we came home with incredible Caroloha bamboo sheets. They are amazing and would never have known if she hadn't guided us in Freeport. Thank you Jessica!! You always looked amazing too.
Fabulous food and entertainment. Macio and Valerie Storm were hillarious! The More forum is way to small for these great comedians. Everyone wanted to go to all of their shows and the line to get in went the entire distance of the promenade. This venue should be moved to the universe lounge. Standing room only for the shows is not necessary when you have the bigger venues like the universe lounge. Tons of people were angry it was so packed but Macio and Valerie Storm were awesome! See them anywhere you can.
Entertainment - The Brits and Motion City were top notch. The best cruise entertainment we have seen. James in Cleopatra room was great, personable and fantastic sing alongs.
We were very happy to get a call to pay for one of the owners suites or the penthouse. It was an incredible room and was our salvation during storms that rocked the boat. Although it was lovely and if you are ever asked to pay the difference do so. Just be aware that is where the VIP treatment ends. We were treated as if we had a $29 a night room. You would think the top room under the satellite had great internet coverage - think again. We never could get coverage - Carnival should tell you that although you may get in and out signals elsewhere on the boat again never in the owners suite - you cannot conduct business on board. You pay by minute and it takes 15 minutes to connect - you pay for that 15 minutes of connection time. Really unfair and for as many times we told them our problems no one cared and they charged our card for use we didn't do - we talked to them on board before leaving and they said sorry it slow but you must pay.
Charleston really needs to get the new port done. There is horrible organization cars parked anywhere. You can't walk to your car even though it wasn't far from the boat. Loading up the buses to and from your car was ridiculous. Charleston has plenty of room to make this better and should. Very very poor reflection on Charleston and we were embarassed to say we were from Charleston when local people had signs saying how much they hated the cruisers. Come on - southern charm is needed here - this is a great port and great Carnival ships wanting to come here. Make it top notch welcome the money and the people who want to stop in Charleston before and after their cruise. I didn't realize all the Ohio and Pennsylvania people that drive 10 hours to come to Charleston for these boats. Welcome them Charleston!! What does it say about the best city in the world if you treat them badly and have poor port organization - lets make it first class like the rest of the city.
Owners suite - penthouse - Carnival should learn to provide the higher level suites with more amenities - it would take much to include wifi, have VIP car service to your car, early arrival and departure. We felt like a herd of cattle and not at all like what we had just paid for our room.
Bottom line - great room, amazing food staff, great entertainers, too many picture takers, too much charged for horrible internet connection if at all, no service from 7777 guest services - treat everyone like they are just a number and not a person.
Caribbean night on the lido - nice idea but really it goes on until wee hrs of the morning and the owners penthouse suite is right there. We couldn't go to bed until party was over. Party is great but it needs to be brought inside after 10 or 11pm at night into the nightclubs.
Hennie - hysterical cruise director looks like brother of Jim Carey and sounds like him. Bingo fun and lots of people won money but $20 a card how about $10 for the clientelle that is spending so much on drinks!
Art work - too high priced for the clientelle on your ship - make the art priced for the customer.
James - in Cleopatra with 3pm tea and sweets and night sing alongs was awesome. Again great job on entertainment Carnival!
Would I cruise again in Charleston - not until a new welcoming port is made and for Carnival to show a VIP package not a one for all and all for one philosophy. Less

Owners - penthouse suite was incredible. Not available on line it appears if they have it available they call those in verandah level and offer the price increase. Well worth it for the balcony and private space.
