Great 4 night cruise on the Majesty

Sail Date: April 2013
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Miami

There were 2 of us on this cruise and we are both in our mid 20's. This was only our second cruise, our first was also with Royal Caribbean but on the Freedom of the seas. Having loved that cruise I was a bit hesitant booking a smaller, older ship.

We visited Orlando for several days pre-cruise and the night before the cruise we stayed in the InterContinental Miami. It was a fabulous hotel. We were upgraded to a ocean view room for free.

As stated before we were quite hesitant booking this older ship for fear of it being run down or not enough to do. Boy were we wrong! I was amazed at the condition of the ship for being almost 21 years old, you could really only find problems if you were looking for them. One example when we got on board there was a black mark about 1.5 feet long going across our stateroom door. By the time we came back from dinner it was painted over.

Both our stateroom attendant and our dining room staff were great. Since our last cruise More they re did the menus and the food on this cruise did seem much better than the last. Windjammer breakfast was always good (but the same), lunches did rotate, but I was never that impressed with it. We ate at Johnny Rockets for a lunch and that food and service was good there. Don't forget about the crepes in the Compass Deli!

In Nassau we booked a tour with Bahamas Segway and did an off road Segway tour of the other side of the island. This was awesome. Book this and you will not regret it. In Coco Cay I did snorkel, which I was not that impressed. Lastly in Key West we booked parasailing through Fury, this was amazing. We then did a quick tour of the city using City View Trolley.

We had book an inside room, but when the prices dropped we changed to a superior oceanview (deck 9). The view was a little obstructed but it made no difference. The size of the room was perfect! We didn't do much in the way of any on board activities. We did attend most of the shows on board. Our Cruise Director Dave Chapman was good. We had a magician one night who was quite good, but the actualy production shows lacked, especially compared to our last cruise.

Both embarkation and debarkation were a breeze. We were one of the first ones on the ship and we used self-assist getting off so we were off quickly with that as well. In all we had another great cruise. The biggest negative was that it was too short! Less

Cabin review: Majesty of the Seas Superior Oceanview Stateroom Deck 9 9070

9070 - great room, close to aft elevators. room was decent size. View was a little obstructed but it was not too bad. No noise issues from neighbors.

Port and Shore Excursions

A great beach day. Snorkling was so-so.
