Pride of America-top 10 tips

Sail Date: April 2013
Destination: Hawaii
Embarkation: Honolulu

We really enjoyed this, our maiden Cruise. Here are our top 10 tips to maximise your enjoyment
1- make sure you book a balcony cabin. They offer great viewing
2- beware of cabins with inter connecting doors if possible , as noise does carry with them
3- men, bring a pair of long pants, as you need them for the Liberty dining room, which is the nicest of the free dining rooms
4-consider eating at night after 8pm or when a show is about to start
5- there is no need to book one of the speciality restaurants before you board. Get the daily broadsheet the night before to plan your following night
6- We booked some excursions not connected with NCL. This is fine except if the cruise boat is running late. Check with the tour operator what the refund policy is if the boat fails to get to the port on time
7- tip your cleaning lady/hostess when you arrive rather than waiting until you leave
8- the best way to buy wine or beer is in bulk! You get a 20 per cent More reduction on the wine if you buy 6 bottles and you can have then delivered anywhere anytime on the boat. You can also buy 6 beers for the cost of 5 bottles and given an ice bucket to go.Trade in warm bottles for cold ones
9-Internet is very expensive on the boat and doesn't work that well. Better off using free wifi in cafes in ports
10- get around to all the bars early in the cruise . There is much variety and each has a different vibe. The entertainment is terrific
Enjoy!!! Less

Cabin review: Pride of America 7010

The cabin was excellent. We were worried about it being above the Mardi Gras room, but never heard a sound. Being at the front of the boat meant very little passing traffic, so it was always quiet outside in the passage.Great Balcony and the cabin space is well designed . Beware this is an inter connecting room, so you hear almost every sound from room 7012.
