Ship Facts: Freedom of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Freedom of the Seas Deck Plans
This cruise was PERFECT in all respects!
This was our "Seniors Cruise". My partner and I brought along mom (a Senior in life) and our niece (a Senior in high school). We booked this cruise online about 9 months in advance. We had adjacent balcony staterooms on Deck 6 (had our Cabin Steward open the balcony between us). We booked all shows, specialty dining, excursions, soda packages, flowers, and room decorations online. We are big planners and believe in "Plan early to avoid disappointment".

This cruise was PERFECT in all respects!

A few highlights:

The ship is gorgeous and well-kept. My only complaint is that the windows could have been cleaner. Seriously, that is all I can say. Our cabin, the public areas, restaurants, the Promenade...Everything appeared like New. And I get paid for having an eye for detail!

Service was great, especially in the Main Dining Room, Chops Grill, Portofinos, and Johnny Rockets. My partner says the best steak anywhere is at Chops Grill on an RCI ship. Specialty Dining is worth every penny extra! We ate at Chops two nights and Portofino once. Both were outstanding!

The shows were excellent! RCI is top-notch when it comes to entertainment. We pre-booked all shows online, but they only checked tickets for the ice show. The headliner was some hokey ABBA band, but even that was good.

The Main Pool gets busy on Sea Days, so get there early. We had no problem getting a table and adjoining lounges at 10ish.

The ship stopped at CocoCay, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. The shopping area at CocoCay has grown alot since we were last there in 2005. We went Parasailing and LOVED it. Anyone can do this and it does not require strength to do. On St. Thomas, we took the cablecar to Paradise Point. It is under construction up there and dumpy, but the view is awesome. They have OK burgers and Bushwackers. Again, it is dumpy, but do it anyway. On St. Maarten, we took a cab to Marigot on the French side ($8 per person each way). There is a cute open market by the water. Buy spices from the Spice Lady, then enjoy drinking a fresh coconut, then go back to Philipsburg. Walk around, swim, and eat (avoid the little place on the beach...Waited an hour for a burger. Good thing we were on vacation! :-D).

Fellow passengers were super nice!

Enjoy Freedom of the Seas!
