Biggest cruise ship on the sea

Sail Date: April 2013
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

This cruise I mistakenly booked over spring break, boarding on Easter Sunday. My wife and I ventured onto this adventure. We have cruised several times before, never on this class of ship.

As is our usual routine, we stayed the night before at a local Fort Lauderdale hotel. Refreshed and ready to cruise we arrived at the embarkation facilities. Very well organized, walked right up to RC rep and completed our registration in moments. We joined the 6,000 other patrons in this giant waiting room. Even with the extra guests it was a pleasant experience. The actual boarding of the ship was super organized.

On the ship we were greeted by numerous cheerful employees. Having read prior reviews we headed to Rita's cantina. No line there as you pay a small fee to eat. We had a couple frosty adult libation, in honor of being in a Mexican restaurant margaritas were the order of the day. Now these were stiff and delicious margaritas. The employees were so darn More friendly and welcoming. We shared the fajitas for two. They were delicious and plentiful, we could not finish them. We had booked one of the Rita's parties and knew we would be back.

We then went to our cabin, happily aglow from our fine margarita. The room was of average balcony size. Overlooking the water the room was perfect for us. We met our steward, Dennison a super friendly guy who took great care of us.

We then had reservation for the Chicago in the spectacular theater. The actual show was just so so. Our seats were good, the cast was good, but Chicago the musical is just tired and old.

Later in the cruise we saw a wonderful diving and gymnastic spectacular. Now that show was great, exciting, fast paced. Also the ocean aria show was especially good. It utilizes the actors from Chicago coupled with the gymnasts from the diving show. Really, really good.

We had a wonderful time on this cruise. We had been to two of the destinations before, we went on this cruise for the ship. We were not disappointed. The crew is masterful at loading and unloading passengers, terrific job.

If you are thinking about this cruise, you should take it. We are going on a smaller ship in July and wonder how we much we will miss all of the amenities that the allure offers. Less
