Relax and enjoy some warm weather.

Sail Date: April 2013
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

This cruise was very relaxing and enjoyable. The food was not really to our liking in the restaurants. We do not enjoy foods that are made with a lot of spices and sauces. However, the buffet did a good job.

We were disappointed that he Horizon Court buffet was not open on many of the evening for dinner.

We also had trouble getting wine glasses delivered to our cabin. On previous cruises, our cabin steward was able to supply them each day that we needed them. This time, we were told to call room service. When we did, they didn't have any to send up to us, so I had to go to one of the bars and ask for them.

The dancers and singers were not as good as we have seen on previous cruises with Princess,

We had a great CC Meet & Greet and had 9 officers of the ship attend. Making arrangements for this with a Princess representative was very easy. Met a lot of people and enjoyed that part.

We also saw 4 of the films that were nominatet for the Oscar. More That was also great. Less

Cabin review: Emerald Princess Oceanview Obstructed Emerald E217

The cabin was very comfortable. Plenty of room for our clothing. The window was completely blocked by the lifeboats as they were hanging directly in front of the window. There was a small opening to see through between them. That was a disappointment.

Turtle Swim

We took a tour snorkeling from a catamaran to swim with the turtles. We booked this with Shasa Tours. Snorkeling equipment was supplied for those of us who did not have any. We also snorkeled in a small area that had some coral and lovely colored fish. Then 2 from our party of 9 left. The rest of us were served lunch on plates with regular silverware. The food was very good. Then we relaxed, swam until it was time to return ro the ship.

This was really beautiful. We could see the beach from the ship. There were many lounges available. We were able to walk to the beach from the ship and relax and swim.

Island tour

I booked this tour through Beulah from Welcome Tours. We had a group of 21 and she had 2 vans with each having seating for 12. Our driver was very knowlegable about the history of the island and we made many stops for pictures. This was a 3-1/2 hour tour and only $38 per person.

Arranged for a tour with Cosol Tours. Our tour guide was Yellow Bird. He did a wonderful job of taking us to see different parts of the island. We were also provided with many drink stops where we had a choice of water, soda, beer and rum punch. We also had a sampling of the local fruits and vegetables at a couple of the stops. I would highly recommend this tour guide and tour company.

We did not have a tour planned for this port. It was not near the part of town where we could get off and go to the shops and walk around. That was disappointing. Someone told me that there was another port on the island that was close to everything. That would have been nice.
