My wife and I took our 10th Carnival cruise to key West and Cozumel aboard the Carnival Victory. The weather during the whole trip was fabulous. Its was 80 and sunny the whole time. Holy Happy Meal, kids must have been on scholl vacation beacuse there were a million of them. (and the ship only holds 3000)
This was our first trip as Platinum VIP members and we were treated with little fanfare. Kind of disappointing really.
Platinum check in was quick and easy, but no mention of our "elite" status left us wondering.
Our cabin steward "An" was our first woman steward and possibly the best we have ever had. She was really good.
The dining room staff was excellent and the food was as good as always.
We gambled quite a lot and did OK. Its the part of cruising that we enjoy a great deal.
We went to two shows, adult comedian Eddie Capone who was pretty good and not over the top dirty. Then we went to the headline show of the cruise "VRRoom" and it was one of the best we have ever seen on a cruise. They did great.
Stops were in Key West where we shopped and stopped by the legendary Conch Shack for the best conch fritters in the world. They never disappoint. Its located on Duval next to the Hog's Breath Saloon. On a recommendation we had lunch at the Hurricane Hole Restaurant and Marina on Stock Island. Its a $20 cab fair from the ship, but you're eating lunch on a pier as manatees and pelicans look up at you. Once in a lifetime!
Next day in Cozumel we went to Paradise Beach and loved it there. Its a $14 cab ride from the ship, but provides and excellent, clean beach with good food, drinks and music.
Overall we had a great time, but just wish Carnival made us feel more special for remaining loyal to them for 10 cruises now.
