Disney Dream Cruise....things you may not have heard.

Sail Date: April 2013
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Port Canaveral

We heard wonderful things about Disney Cruise Line so after 12 years of cruising we decided to give it a try.
We got the largest veranda available...it was deep but very narrow. The small outdoor veranda could have been nice but, people smoke outside on the veranda so it's hard to enjoy. Sometimes the fumes from the ship also ruin the outdoor experience and when your docked next to other ships you will hear their loud music and activities going on.
Our original cabin had so much creaking noise that we didn't get any sleep the 1st night which they said they would look into but we can't get our sleep back. We ended up switching to a different cabin the next day which caused us to miss out on numerous activities. In our new cabin which was exactly the same, we experienced another issue. The person in the cabin next to us snored so loudly that we couldn't fall asleep and he sounded like he was right next to us. Then to find out that all the cabins are set up beds, head to More head. If your neighbor snores, speaks or has the TV on...you will hear it!
FOOD...The food was okay sometimes and others just plan bland. The deserts were not good at all. I don't eat dairy but my husband like the ice cream.
DINING SERVICE...The dining for us was a hectic experience and are original servers were a disappointment. The atmosphere could have been nice but seemed very crowded and noisy. They served us separately, sometimes without silverware and water but the worst was our servers attitude.
POOLS...Seriously, what a joke. I'm so glad we didn't bring kids because they children had absolutely no room in the pool to move and play all you see above is heads, no water. If this were a swim club they would be over occupancy by 10 fold. The adult area was very very small and the pool/hot tub size area was ridiculous with no moving room in the water. The water was bath tub warm and not refreshing. The aqua duck was over a half hour wait and lasted 30 seconds, the first 5 seconds were fun but then boring.
DISNEY'S ISLAND...pretty island but the water was really cold. CAUTION ON THE ADULT SIDE OF THE ISLAND. There are sharks that come in very very close (1 ft of water) and we saw two sharks and then got out.
SHOWS...The shows were nice, but not spectacular like we would have expected.
INCONVENIENCE...You will see a lot of crew working daily on the ship and loud noises from them will most likely occur and interrupt your relaxation while eating or relaxing on a chair. Also, the walking area on deck 4 was blocked off every day for cleaning so you had to go half way and then turn around.
GYM...Another huge disappointment, which was the smallest gym on a cruise ship we've ever been on. There was no stretching area and the equipment was on top of each other in a super small space.
The ship was clean and very nice but in many areas was designed poorly.
Out of four nights we only got 1.5 nights sleep which ruined our vacation.
We will not go on a Disney Cruise again! Less
