Great cruise for getaway with no kids!

Sail Date: April 2013
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Miami

Overall we had a great time. Although the Sky may be a smaller ship, Norwegian did everything very well. Our first cruise was with Disney with the girls, this one was just for my wife and I and NO KIDS! We had a great time. We loved the freestyle dining!!! The idea that every dinner was just the two of us and we could eat whenever we wanted was so nice. The freestyle dining is by far the best thing Norwegian offers. No set time and we could eat around what else we wanted to do was so nice. The food itself was good. Every meal was what I expected and we had no issues with the food at all.
Getting on the ship was easy and nothing really special about what they do.
Entertainment: overall very good, the best part was that everything was well timed out so you could do everything that you wanted to do. Russ Rivas was the comedian and all 3 of his shows were great! He is a great comedian and even his adult only set he did not cuss at all and was very funny. The shows are good in one More sense, the dancers they have are all very very good. The singing is average at best but the dancing more then makes up for it. The "game" shows were great. The Perfect Couple and Dancing with the Sky stars are must sees. It makes for a lot of great laughs if those that sign up enjoy themselves. I haven't laugh that hard in a while.
The Casino is just that a casino. Nothing great or poor about it.
The pool was good but seemed colder then what is should be. The bar attendants make sure you never need a drink. Every night they did a food at the pool and margaritas were only 4.95 from 3-5 pm. The best part was the White Hot Party, everyone wears white and it was fun to watch and dance a bit.
Great Stirrup Cay was fine, the beach is soft and there are plenty of chairs, just be careful there are a lot of rocks out in the water and they are easy to see but you have to be looking. I would not recommend running into the water that is for sure.
We had an inside stateroom and they are small but it was fine for the time we are there. The tv could use an upgrade.
Freeport and Nassau were the ports and they were fine. If you have not been to Nassau before just be ready for very aggressive sell tactics. This was our 2nd time so we were ready for it.
For disembarkment we had an early flight and took our bags with us but it was easy and we made it to the shuttle and the airport in plenty of time. They tell you not to book a flight before noon. We did 1130 and were at the airport by 9am. If you did not have a lot of bags or people you could maybe make an even earlier flight.
The Sky overall is a good ship and is a great cruise. I don't think there is a lot to keep kids entertained on this particular boat but for the two of us as a get away it was awesome!!! That is what I would recommend it for. We liked it enough to put down a deposit on another cruise but we will be looking at the Epic or one of their new ships that have more for the kids since we plan on bringing them! Less

Port and Shore Excursions

See above the beach is nice and tendering out to it was fun. The food on the beach comes from the ship and was good. The beach itself is soft but there are a lot of rocks out in the water itself.
