My wife and I booked this cruise for Spring Break, with our 6 younger family members. Our embarkation in Baltimore was a breeze! We arrived at 12:15 p.m., and were on the ship by 1:00 p.m. The ship is beautiful, our room was spacious, and everything was spotless clean. Our service at dinner was absolutely wonderful! SHOUT OUT TO JERRY! and Winston, and their 3rd server. They were very attentive, courteous, and gave us wonderful service! Jerry was the show! Hope to get him as your server. Breakfast service was just O.K., but the food was good. As others have said, the service goes down, as the week goes on, especially on the lido deck, and the breakfast service the last couple of days. Don't expect much on debarkation day.
Deck one forward is not a place for people who like sleep. Starry Nights lounge is just above, and plays very loud music, all through the night, but when music is not playing, it sounds like people moving furniture around, all day and night! Do not More
settle for deck 1 forward. A lot of things happen on deck 2.
The shows were just O.K.. Dancers were just O.K., singers were O.K., but bad at times.
The juggler was good and really funny, and the 2 comics were great. We were to pick up 2 more comics in Freeport, but weather messed that up. Overall we, as a family had a great time, but Carnival was just O.K. this time. Less
Window view, deck 2. 3 good size closets, great shower! Always noisy, due to club just above. Either loud music, or furniture moving. Had to call front desk
one night at 3am, and they had security come to our room to hear it.
We walked off the port bridge, down the main street, and found a ferry type vessel taking people over to Paradise Island. It was $8 round trip. We then walked to a beach, and were harassed by the locals to buy everything from cigars, beach chairs and drink deals. We took the drink deal, and drank all day for $20. The water was a bit cool, but it was beautiful. It was crystal clean and clear. The waters were a bit rough for the Caribbean. The sand was course, and stuck to our skin like it had glue in it. On our walk back to the ferry, we stopped at Anthony's Restaurant and enjoyed a lot of Conch. We missed the ferry getting back, so we took a cab at $4 per person. We went into town by the Cruise ship, but all of the shops were closed? It was 6:30 and we were in Port till 7:30, on a Thursday.
Bus ride to Magic Kingdom took about 1 hour, we were their for 5 hours and then ride back to the cruise ship took another hour. The air condition broke down on the bus, but that wasn't Carnival's fault. Drivers were pleasant, and professional, and Magic Kingdom was overcrowded due to spring break.
